β It was not too long ago, truly. Not too long ago when the worlds' savior was to be born β with a weight so little in comparison to the one that would inevitably place itself upon her shoulders in her future. 'Twas a mere 2 epochs or so ago, as a matter of fact, that Ume Ejinn was born to her two parents, Maral Ejinn and Baltu Ejinn.
The girl was not raised in a... very efficient manner β not in the way a typical child would have been raised, anyway. It didn't help that their tribe travelled from place to place all the time, neither did it help that the Garleans were quite an insurmountable threat to the immediate region at the time.Ume, like most Ejinn children, had labored for her tribe since a young age, though all of that tireless work never hardened up her heart β being so confined to her people and their customs made her all the more wanting, craving a chance to see what else is out there in that vast world she called home. Eventually, Ume had decided to leave her tribe behind (alas, with disapproval of her father, though her mother was loving and supportive of her ideals) in pursuit of exploration and adventure. She had made her way to the port city of Valnain, sneaking onto a Garlean cargo delivery ship that was bound for the Eorzean Black Shroud. Upon landing there, she is almost caught by on-ship staff, but nonchalantly dismissed as a stowaway β a mistake that, in the future, would cost them more than they could imagine.Ume makes a new home for herself in Gridania, the quaint little city-state nestled in the heart of the shroud which welcomed her with open arms. She takes up a post at the lancer's guild following her experience with a spear, and the rest is history.
